The Challenge

Bay City Public Schools faced a growing need to stand out in a competitive education landscape, with many local families opting for nearby districts or charter options. To lay the groundwork for future enrollment efforts, BCPS needed a brand platform that would do more than just look good—it had to reflect who they are, what they stand for, and why families should take a closer look.

The Goal

Create a bold and authentic brand campaign that would inspire trust, build pride, and position BCPS as a district deeply invested in its students. The campaign needed to unify messaging across buildings and staff, while highlighting the real, meaningful experiences happening in BCPS classrooms every day.

The Approach

  • Rooted in the theme “BE EXCEPTIONAL,” the campaign was built around simple, powerful visuals—real students, real learning—and messaging that reflected the values of the district: opportunity, connection, and care.

Creative elements leaned into words like “BE: Inspired,” “BE: Challenged,” and “BE: Together,” echoing what both parents and students shared during the discovery phase.

  • From banners and signs to social media and email templates, the campaign helped every building bring the brand to life with clean, consistent, and recognizable designs.

  • Rather than polished PR, the focus shifted to authentic storytelling. Educators were invited to share everyday moments of joy, growth, and learning—creating a powerful, people-first narrative that’s still shaping BCPS’s reputation.

The Results

The brand campaign has sparked new energy across the district, reinforcing BCPS’s commitment to innovative, student-centered education.

While results are still being measured, the campaign has laid a strong foundation for future enrollment success—helping families “discover what it means to BE EXCEPTIONAL.”
